1983: Precision diagnostics in infancy
The origins of the HORMON ZENTRUM MÜNCHEN date back to the early 80s. In 1983, the lecturer Dr Alexander Römmler founded a joint practice for the treatment of childlessness and hormone disorders, plus a modern hormone laboratory, which rapidly developed into one of the leading endocrinology laboratories for hospitals and practices. Thanks to the consistent use of the latest analysis methods, the necessary diagnostic tools could be made available for use in reproductive medicine, a discipline which at that time was still very new.
1985: The first private clinic for fertility medicine
The Westendstraße Clinic was born from the relocation of Dr Römmler's specialist endocrinology practice and hormone laboratory along with the addition of the IVF department, which was established here by Professor Hanns-Kristian Rjosk after leaving Munich's University Hospital. Based on the foundation of such reliable hormone diagnostics, and the extensive experience in reproductive medicine gained by Professor Rjosk from working at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne and the First Women's Hospital of the University of Munich, the gynaecological Hormone Centre on Westendstraße was born in 1985 ? the same year as the birth of Munich's first IVF children. Nowhere else was a private fertility centre to be found, beyond the usual hospital format, in the form of a clinic with a personal, understanding environment which also offered the latest technological standards.
1996: Anti-aging medicine on exact scientific principles
Specialisation in individual endocrinological issues resulted in an ever increasing understanding of the complex biochemical and biomolecular processes in the human organism. A store of knowledge which was at first incidental, but from 1996 onwards gave reason to the addition of anti-aging medicine or preventive and geriatric medicine: successful prophylactic strategies and therapeutic possibilities which enable many of the age-related, degenerative diseases and disorders to be perceivably influenced and thus improve long-term health as well as enhance vitality and the zest for life, also in old age.
